How We Work

We create the opportunity. The newsroom makes the decision.

PressLine works in earned media. There is no guaranteed path from a good idea to airtime, and we do not pretend there is. Our job is to recognize where a client genuinely belongs in the television conversation, build the strongest case for that appearance, put it in front of the appropriate newsrooms, and be ready when a producer responds.

For experts & analysts

News-driven booking

When the news creates a legitimate opening for expert analysis, PressLine moves. Some stories call for broad distribution across a relevant group of television contacts. Others call for precision outreach to a particular program, market, or producer. The approach follows the story.

01

Watch the news

We follow the daily news cycle and identify stories where a client's actual expertise can add something useful to the coverage.

02

Find the angle

Credentials alone are not a pitch. We develop a timely reason the client belongs in this particular story and frame it in a way a television newsroom can evaluate quickly.

03

Put it in front of the right newsrooms

Distribution is matched to the story. Depending on the opportunity, that may mean a relevant national or local group of producers and assignment desks, or direct outreach to a specific program or producer. We manage overlapping expertise carefully so our clients are not unnecessarily competing against one another for the same opportunity.

04

The producer decides

Editorial coverage is earned. Producers decide what makes air, who fits the segment, and when the story moves. PressLine creates the opportunity; the newsroom makes the editorial decision.

05

When there is interest, we execute

We handle the booking path around the appearance: scheduling, format, talking points and preparation, remote logistics, production coordination, and follow-through.

06

Document the work

Outreach and results are tracked so clients can see both the activity behind the scenes and the coverage that comes from it.

For executives & founders

Position-driven booking

An executive does not need to chase every news cycle to build a meaningful television presence. Here the work is more selective. We look for the conversations where the executive's company, experience, leadership, or ideas create a real reason for that person to be on the air.

01

Define the position

We start with what the executive should credibly be known for beyond a title or company name.

02

Identify the right conversations

Some opportunities come from the national news cycle. Others come from what the executive or organization is building, announcing, changing, or challenging.

03

Be selective

We evaluate whether an appearance advances the position before pursuing it. The objective is not maximum airtime. It is the right airtime.

04

Develop and pursue the opportunity

PressLine shapes the television angle, identifies the appropriate outlets and producers, and handles the outreach. We can do this independently or alongside an existing communications team.

05

Build on what works

A strong appearance should reinforce the executive's authority and make the next relevant opportunity easier to recognize and pursue.

No magic language

Earned media means there are no guarantees.

We can control the quality of the idea, the relevance of the outreach, the timing, the preparation, and the execution. We cannot control a newsroom's editorial decision — and we would not claim otherwise.

What we cannot promise
A guaranteed number of interviews in a given month
That every good pitch will receive a response
Control over a producer's rundown, timing, or editorial framing
What we can promise
We will not manufacture a reason for a client to be in a story
We will choose the outreach approach based on the opportunity, not pretend every story is the same
When a newsroom responds, we will be ready to move
PressLine Media

The work is disciplined. The outcome is earned.

That distinction matters to the clients we represent and to the producers receiving our pitches.
